I Am From...

We invite you to come to the library to view the display of "I Am From" poems by Edgewood’s new first year students.

First year students were assigned I Am From poems in connection with Edgewood’s Common Reading program. In this year’s book, How to Be An Indian in the 21st Century, Louis Clark shares his experiences growing up on the Oneida reservation in eastern Wisconsin in the 1960s. Clark discusses racism and violence against Native Americans, poverty, community, and self-identity.

Students in ART 101 are poetry “bombing” the library with a display of the poems by the main staircase, highlighting the unique characteristics of members of our first year class. Learn about others’ experiences, engage in the Edgewood community, and read some great poetry at the Oscar Rennebohm Library!
