In this installment, Graduate Assistant, Sebastian Bisogno highlights autobiographies.

I am currently just under a hundred page into John Cleese’s “So Anyway”.  “So Anyway” is an autobiographical book that begins with Cleese’s three childhood memories and continues up to the forming of the group that would create Monty Python’s Flying Circus. Cleese’s writing style should be recognizable to any fans of Monty Python’s Flying Circus, or with any of his later projects including his sitcom Fawlty Towers. Cleese writes about the serious, the mundane and the amusing parts of growing up in a way that I scarcely can get through paragraphs without several laughs. I strongly recommend that anyone who has enjoyed the Python brand of humor to consider getting or request a copy. If Monty Python isn’t your thing, try reading the book of someone else who you think makes brilliant works in another medium and see how that skill is translated onto the page.
