HVAC work in the library

August 12 update

Late last week facilities completed the installation of the new air conditioning system. Atmosphere in the library (both temperature and noise) is back to normal. Special thanks to folks from Edgewood Facilities for their hard work over the past few weeks!

July 15 update

With the excessive heat, we are planning to open every day this week at 7:30am, and stay open as long as the temperature in the building is at reasonable levels.  Watch the library home page, and hours page for any updates.

Study space is warm and noisy

Study space in the library is unusually warm at this time, due to the installation of a new air conditioning system.  In addition, the noise level is higher than normal because of portable cooling units and fans that are running in our space.

Other study options

If you are looking for a cool and somewhat quieter space to study (with wifi) we recommend Wingra Cafe or Phil's Cafeteria.  If you need to use a PC, there are a few computers available in DeRicci Hall across from the bookstore, or in Predolin Hall next to room 208.

Facilities plans to have the new air conditioning system up and running before the fall semester begins.

We apologize for any inconvenience.
