New database
January 7, 2009
We recently added Credo Reference to our growing list of electronic resources that are available to all Edgewood students, faculty and staff.
What is Credo Reference?
Credo is a vast, online reference library, providing access to the full text of hundreds of highly regarded and popular titles. And Credo brings the facts alive with images, sound files, animations, videos and much more. Find speedy, simple answers and authoritative, in-depth articles.
What types of books are available?
Credo Reference contains dictionaries, bilingual dictionaries, thesauri, encyclopedias, quotations and atlases, plus a wide range or subject-specific titles covering everything from accounting to zoology.
How do I access Credo?
Credo is available on almost all of the library's Resources by Subject pages. You will also find it in our list of Databases by Title.
Using Credo
Once you search for a topic, the search results page gives you options to narrow your search, using the links on the left side.
You can limit by:
- Subject
- Entry Type (articles, biographies, definitions, quotations, translations, etc.)
- Media (entries with images, maps, videos or audio)
- Person
- Publication date
After clicking on one of the items in the results, you will also see links to related entries, in Credo as well as other library e-book collections.
Credo also works well with RefWorks. Just check the items you want to save, and click on Saved Results. From there you can print, email, save, or export to RefWorks.
