Ask Away

Information is the engine that drives our modern world, but with more information available than ever before it's getting harder and harder to find the reliable information you want and need. Until now!

AskAway, a new statewide cooperative service of Wisconsin libraries, can help you get a reliable answer from a librarian - anytime, day or night - right on the internet.

The 24-hour-a-day AskAway service is staffed by the 24/7 Reference Consortium, a group of hundreds of libraries across the country (including Edgewood) that work together to provide this service. Edgewood librarians contribute time to the consortium, and Edgewood students, faculty, and staff benefit from the expanded service.

Librarians nationwide are waiting to answer your questions. They'll chat and visit web pages with you to answer your questions. After your session, you'll see a complete transcript. If you provided your email address, you'll also receive an emailed copy.

People around the country are praising the service, saying they found it "very cool," "quick and easy," and "wonderful." One user responded simply "Wow!"

You can access AskAway from our Ask a Librarian page. Just choose AskAway and type in your question. You too will be saying "wow!" and "very cool!" after trying it out.
