Edgewood College Present

On Sunday, May 14, 2006, Edgewood College proudly celebrated the graduation of its largest group of graduates. Graduation day festivities began with the commencement liturgy in St. Joseph Chapel in Regina Hall. Graduates and their guests filled the chapel and college chaplain Father Tony Schumacher presided. After the liturgy, graduates and their families enjoyed a champagne brunch with President Dan Carey in the college dining rooms.

At 2:00 pm, the commencement ceremony began at the Veterans Memorial Coliseum at the Alliant Energy Center. An Edgewood College diploma continues being a very valuable asset for undergraduates in the arts, sciences and professional programs and for masters level graduates in the schools of education, religious studies, business administration, marriage and family therapy, and nursing. This year's spring commencement also included fifteen women and men receiving the degree of doctor of education in educational leadership.

The college campus quickly transitioned to summer programs and events by Monday, May 15!

Edgewood College Past

Thanks to current collaborations with the archives of the Sinsinawa Dominicans at Sinsinawa, Wisconsin, the college archives obtained a few photos from a Graduation Ceremony in the early 1960's.

Edgewood College Future

During the summer of 2006 the college will be participating in two major reorganizations -- one internal and one external.

Internally, the college is moving to a design that includes six schools. Those schools will be: The School of Arts and Sciences; The School of Integrative Learning; The School of Education; The School of Nursing; The School of Business; The School of Graduate and Professional Studies.

Externally, the Lake Michigan Conference (which the college had been affiliated with for several years) is dissolving. Edgewood College and several other LMC schools are joining a newly formed Northern Athletics Conference. This Division III conference will allow Edgewood to compete with comparable sized Schools in northern Illinois and Iowa.
