Murder in the Library!
September 28, 2005
Dear Unsuspecting and Innocent Friends
of Edgewood College and the Library,
It is our dubious pleasure to invite you to a deathly exciting "book signing" at the library. We regret to inform you that it will take place on Friday October 21st. at the inconvenient hour of 7:30 pm. If you are not of a suitably stalwart constitution, we humbly suggest that you stop reading here and find something... jollier... to do. For we strongly suspect that dirty work in the form of a murder will take place during the festivities. The fact that few, if any, people will mourn the victim is quite inconsequential. If you do not mind events of a foul and sinister nature, turning tomes to tombs, come join the Halloween fun as the volume of macabre evidence stacks up!
Lament-fully yours,
The Staff of the Oscar Rennebohm Library

This tongue-in-cheek mystery begins with a book signing party by a rather unpopular mystery author, Agatha Mystery. When all the suspects have toasted/roasted her - and she has given her scathing response - Agatha Mystery suddenly drops dead between the book stacks. Whodunnit? Suspects and characters include:
- Agatha Mystery, the celebrated author
- Lotta Books, the head librarian
- Dell Doubleday, the writer's publisher
- Dalton B. Walden, the local bookseller
- Sam Slayed, the chief of police
- The Governator, newly-elected governor who plans to run for President
- Page Turner, a book critic with 130 slander cases pending against her
- J'Lo Bennifer, star of the popular mini-series, "Wet Throbbing Lips"
