Library News Feed

What is this?

RSS (Really Simple Syndication) is a format that allows you to keep up-to-date with your favorite websites by "subscribing" to their feeds.

Using software (or web-based tools) called news readers or news aggregators, you can easily browse the new information added to your favorite websites. The news reader automatically checks for updates and displays them for you.

How can I get and read news feeds?

  1. Get a news reader.

There are many options: websites you can use, add-on programs for your browser, separate news reader programs, and services that deliver news updates via email. Below are a few examples.

  2. Subscribe to feeds.

Look for the buttons Feed, RSS, or XML on your favorite websites. Some news readers automatically detect the feed when you click on the link, or you can copy the link into your news reader.
