How Do I Find an Article?

Get the FULL TEXT for a specific article

Search by Topic

From the Library website choose Articles & Indexes for all our databases OR go to Resources by Subject and select the discipline you are working in and use one of the recommended databases - Education, English & Literature, Psychology, etc.

Search the database using keywords that are relevant to your topic. Once you find an article on your topic, look at the subject headings to see if they can help you refine your search.

Mark articles you want to read, and check to see if there is a link to the full text. Print or e-mail yourself the articles you find. Be sure to note the database that contained the full text and the date you accessed the article.

Save the citations in RefWorks, e-mail the list and/or print out the brief citations so you have a record of your research

Check Online

Inter-Library Loan

If your article isn't available in full text (or in our print journals), we can get it for any Edgewood student, faculty or staff:

Review the abstracts and subject headings to be sure the article is useful.

Create an Inter-Library Loan request by cutting and pasting the citation into our Inter-Library Loan form. Some databases may have an ILL option - use that to create an interlibrary loan.

OR Bring a list of your saved citations to the Library and we will help you with your ILL request.
