The Dissertation Publication Process

For complete information regarding dissertations, see the college's Dissertation Handbook.

Please contact the Ed.D. office (608-663-3308 or email) if you have any questions before you proceed.

Edgewood College requires that your dissertation be published both digitally and in print, using the following procedures:

Dissertation Publication Approval Form

The Dissertation Publication Approval Form (PDF 27k) is available here in PDF format. It can also be obtained from the Ed.D. office.

Forward the completed form to the Ed.D. office for processing.

Digital Publishing

We currently use Proquest/UMI to digitize and index your full text dissertation, making it available worldwide to anyone using search words included in your title or abstract.

Submit your manuscript to UMI though our customized website at http://dissertations.umi.com/edgewood.

UMI will not complete the publishing process until authorized to do so from the college. Authorization will not be granted until the approval form is accepted.

Print Publishing

We currently use Grimm Book Bindery and require you to provide three hardbound copies for use by your advisor, the appropriate departmental office and the college library. If you want additional copies for your personal use, they should also be ordered at this time.

Submit your manuscript to directly to Grimm using the Dissertation Order Form (PDF 118k) (fill out the form, then click the "SUBMIT" button at the bottom of the form).

If you have any questions about this process, please contact the Ed.D. Administrative Assistant (608-663-3308 or email).
